Who we are
The Arrhythmia Intervention Society (AIS) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization devoted to empowering U.S. electrophysiologists to elevate patient care through specialized education, groundbreaking research, and strong advocacy. AIS serves as the essential platform for practitioners focused on heart rhythm management, bringing together physicians, healthcare providers, researchers, and industry leaders to address the critical challenges in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias.
In a rapidly evolving field, AIS drives innovation and best practices vital to ensuring US electrophysiologists have the tools, resources, and unified voice needed to meet the demands of a growing patient population. Our commitment is to enhance the capabilities of cardiac electrophysiology practices nationwide, equipping them to deliver the highest standard of care while navigating complex healthcare landscapes. By advocating for the needs of this specialized field, AIS stands as a leading force, ensuring that US cardiac electrophysiologists are prepared, supported, and empowered to make a lasting difference in patients’ lives.
Our Role in the Fight Against Heart Rhythm Disorders
As a leader advocating for advancements in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, AIS collaborates with educators and the industry to address the challenges of heart rhythm disorders. Cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation (AFib), contribute significantly to clinical morbidity, hospitalization, and mortality, affecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Despite progress in treatment options, the prevalence of AFib and other arrhythmias continues to rise, posing substantial public health challenges around timely access to specialized care.
With an estimated 1 in 4 lifetime risk of developing AFib for individuals over 40, the impact on the healthcare system is projected to grow. By 2030, over 12 million Americans may be affected by AFib, underscoring the urgent need for innovation and advocacy to manage this expanding healthcare burden. AIS is dedicated to leading this charge, supporting initiatives that improve patient outcomes, broaden access to care, and empower the electrophysiology community to deliver the latest in cardiac arrhythmia treatments.
